OTEC has launched a significant program to recruit consultants in all fields of ocean science and technology.

OTEC actively recruits expert consultants, lawyers, and writers from academia, business, government, and private sectors. OTEC typically hires on a specific contract basis when a job arises in an applicant's area of expertise. Therefore, jobs with OTEC usually are supplemental to an applicant's permanent employment. OTEC offers no benefits or insurance.

Employment is contingent upon background verification. Pay is based on degrees and years of experience in a specified field.
